Mild Minds

Although a seemingly new act, Mild Minds (real name Benjamin David) has quickly paved his path as an influential artist at the forefront of electronic music production worldwide. While the past decade has seen Benjamin David as the driving force behind several successful artist projects, he found himself birth Mild Minds while searching to find that child-like state of creation once again.

He introduced Mild Minds with  “SWIM” and was immediately signed by international tastemaker label imprint ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective on Ninja Tune and Counter Records.

Soon, the LA-based Australian was asked to remix ODESZA and Tycho, in addition to touring with everyone from Tycho, Bob Moses, to Big Wild, before his first sold-out headline shows in Australia, the USA, and Mexico. As “SWIM” eclipsed over 20 million Spotify streams, its remix from ford. notably garnered a 2020 GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Remixed Recording.”

On its heels, his full-length debut MOOD, earned widespread acclaim including a short list nomination for the Australian Music Prize, 200+ million streams, while remixes poured in from such tastemaking producers as Jacques Greene, Laurence Guy, DJ Boring, and Throwing Snow.

2023 saw the release of the much-lauded IT WON’T DO EP (accompanied with remixes from the likes of Mansionair, MAFRO, Liam Mour among others) as well as a collaboration with friend and FFC labelmate edapollo on EVERYTHING.

Picking up where  "Everything" left off, Mild Minds and edapollo make a hypnotic return with their latest offering "IN YOUR EYES" out June 26th on Foreign Family Collective.

Mild Minds defines his music as an exploration between the intersection of humanity and technology; an observational top down view of human progress.  He finds inspiration in human movement, patterns, mathematics and artificial intelligence. As diverse as each track may be, he always extracts human emotion from electronic sounds in a search to define his own voice.
